I just shipped a handgun for repairs. Was shocked to learn air deliveries seems to be the only chioce. Big money to ship a small item. Anyone else have any experience here? Could I have shipped it in 2 boxes...slide on ine and frame in the other and sent it ground? Didn't think of this until later in the day. Cost nearly 1/4 of the purchase price to have it shipped!
Ideas? Comments?
Thanks, Alan

The frame is considered the pistol, so would have had to ship it by air anyway. A cheaper way, especially if you bought it at a local gun shop, is to ask them to ship it for you & they can ship by parcel post. If you bought it from them, some stores do it as a customer service at no charge. But, even if you have to pay the freight & some extra for their trouble, would be cheaper.

Yes, your LGS can ship through the post office and save you a good deal of money.
